Where Am I?
Wow - where have I been? It's been 2 very fast months. Right now I'm in Austin, TX for Austin City Limits. It was 80 degrees when I got in late tonight... can't even imagine what it's like in the daytime. I'm actually lookin' forward to the hot summer sun though... not to mention good music and drinks by the pool.

4 weeks sure do go by fast. Can you say slacker? My bad. Surprisingly, there are some folks who've noticed my lack in keeping it current, and hey, that's nice to know that my escapades are worth a good read every now and then.
I don't even know where to start. Last I wrote I was about to see my friend Gwen at Shoreline. She put on a damn good show. I'm even more of a fan. After that weekend, I went down to LA for a friend's wedding. Johnny is officially off the market ladies, and I couldn't be happier for the guy.
And then there's South Beach over 4th of July. Hit town w/ 3 friends, and we tore it up. Stayed at the Sagamore, lounged all day and played all night. Delano, Mansion, Rumi, Pearl, Nikki Beach, Opium Garden, Prive, Tantra... and of course, Gino's late night pizza. I may have some photos to post... rated PG of course. We'll see.
Steph visited last weekend and I showed her a good time in SF. Maybe too much. We met up w/ the rest of the girls on Belden Place and hit a party at the W, then spent all day Sat. in Napa. She went home sick, but I'm sure she'll be back in full form when I visit NYC. Next weekend, in fact.
This weekend was noteworthy too, but I'm losing steam fast. I'll save it for next time. And yes, I realize I left out major deets from my other weekends. Holla if you want more. I'm out.

I've become a concert groupie
It's been another week already? Wow, this blogging gig is tough. It's Tuesday night, and I gotta catch up with myself...
Saw Madonna last week on her Reinvention tour. 20th row floor seats. I could almost reach out and touch her when she came out on the catwalk. Well, almost. She looks amazing. Can't believe I've missed all her other shows. This is supposedly her last tour (aren't they saying that about Prince, and he's coming back in September?), and if it is, I feel pretty damn lucky to have seen her. And speaking of shows, I think I've outdone myself this year. At the start of the year, I was saying that I hardly go to concerts anymore. Now I've been to four and the fifth one is coming up in a couple of days. I've been to Britney (yep, proud of it too), Prince, Madonna, and BFD. Saw Beastie Boys @ BFD... they still got it... and I don't care what anyone else says. This Saturday, it's No Doubt and Blink 182. My friend, Gwen, as I like to say. We met in front of the Four Seasons in NYC. Think she remembers? Not sure what else I have lined up after that. I'm sure Junipero Serra may have some ideas...
On a non-concert-related note, I'm 2 1/2 weeks closer to my mini-vacation in Miami. Never been. People tell me I'll like it there... so much that I might not wanna come back. Not sure what that says about me, but it sounds like it'll be a good time. Fo sho.

That's actually a culinary term. But yes, I'm behind on my blog. How can I be lagging when I pretty much just started? Oh that's right, I've been out. Since my last entry, I've taken a roadtrip to LA for Memorial Day weekend, went to the Prince concert, and hit the Union Street Fair. Here's the abridged version of the last week and a half:
In La La Land:
Bliss - minimal clothing allowed at that club
Standard - guess they let anyone in that bar these days
Standard Diner - they really need to invest in unbreakable glassware
Sunset/Hollywood Blvd./Melrose - excellent shoe selection
El Guapo - good sangria
Random bar on Melrose - break out the red lights
Blowfish Sushi - just as good as the one in SF
Forbidden City - good hip hop
Spider Club - how elite of us
Avelon - talk about a scene
Hermosa Beach Fair - made me miss living there
Great trip. I'd do it again w/ these girls...
Prince concert -- Talk about a show. It was his best concert yet, and I've been to three. I couldn't sit down. And if I were sitting just a little bit closer, I would've definitely tried to make my way on that stage. Ever since De La Soul, it's become a goal...
Union Street Fair -- Gotta love summer in SF. Enough said.

I want my MTV
Note to self: Set TiVo to record premiere of MTV Prom Date tonight at 11pm PDT. Oh wait... I don't have TiVo. Guess I'll have to tune in myself...
And why, you may ask, am I watching this at all? Because I'm into teen reality shows? Because I'm looking for a prom date? Because I'm an MTV junkie? Well, those in the know, undoubtedly know, that I'm the No. 1 fan of Indelible Arts Prod. Viva los raiders, Gdubble. I'll be watching...
